DESIGN LANGUAGE
A human touch to coffee innovation
Roasting Plant brings the theatre of freshly roasted coffee into the café through its Javabot, a system that roasts, grinds and brews beans to order. Packaging illustrations were developed to bring a human, approachable character to this technical process.
The artwork follows the coffee journey from growers and beans to the cup, with lively line work and a sense of movement that echoes the Javabot's pipes. It gives the packaging a playful visual thread while sitting within the wider Roasting Plant look and feel.
CONCEPT
A coffee journey mapped in illustration
The visual language is built around a restrained typographic system, allowing the work itself to lead. A neutral, architectural palette supports this approach, creating a timeless foundation that feels both contemporary and enduring. Subtle detailing and considered spacing echo the discipline and structure inherent within architectural practice.
APPLICATION
Coffee labels with their own character
Illustrated coffee labels carry this visual language onto the packaging. Expressive details help distinguish different flavour profiles, adding warmth and personality to the packs while leaving the coffee information clear and easy to find.
